Description
Here is a very fun box that will provide proof of the difference between a continental aging carried out in our latitudes, and another in the tropics, with a much higher evaporation rate (the famous angels' share exceeding 10% annually). It is the fruit of the collaboration between Velier and Scheer, an Amsterdam-based blender.
The 2 Monymusk rums that make up this box, from the Clarendon distillery, are similar (14 years old), but one was aged in the tropics while the other was aged in Europe.
The tropical version is a blend of ten barrels from 2006, two from 2004 and four from 2002, all aged in Jamaica.
The continental version is a blend of twelve barrels from 2004
