Velier

Founded in 1947 by Casimiro Chaix, who at the time was working at the French consulate in Genoa, the Italian company Velier quickly established itself as an importer of wines, spirits and delicatessen products.

In 1983, at the age of 25, Luca Gargano enter to the capital of Velier and, under his influence, the company began to specialize in the import of exceptional distillates such as the legendary stock of St James rum distilled in 1885 and which Luca discovered in 1991. Since then, these rum selections have multiplied and led to the emergence of exceptional and recognized ranges.

Velier is, among other things, the first Italian company to import “new world wines” (Chile, California, New Zealand…) in 1988 and to import Cuban cigars to Italy in 1999. This was followed by the introduction of cachaças, mezcals and piscos a few years later, then the Triple A adventure (natural wine) in 2001, the Rhum Rhum (Marie-Galante) and Providence distilleries in Haiti. And many more things.
