Demerara Blairmont 1991 15YO
Description
Velier Blairmont 1991 Full Proof Old Demerara (mark ), distilled in September 1991 in a Savalle type column still (French Savalle Still, a metal column still dating from the 18th century) and bottled after 15 years of tropical aging from seven barrels in 2006.
Blairmont is a former plantation and distillery which was present on the banks of the Berbice River which runs through Guyana and flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The name comes from the first owner of the place, an Irishman named Blair Lambert (1767-1815). The plantation then took the name of Mount Blair then Blair Mont.
Apart from this 1991 rum, Velier also released a 28-year-old 1982 vintage in 2010 (60.4°).

In 2001 Velier joined forces with Demerara Distillers Ltd and selected rums that have since become legendary. Thanks to his friendship with the late Yesu Persaud, Luca Gargano thus had the extreme privilege of choosing barrels directly from the DDL warehouses, which he offered cask-strength and fully aged in a tropical climate.
