Old Collector
Velier Basseterre 1997 9YO
Description
Distilled on April 30, 1997, this 9-year-old Basseterre rum was produced at the Montebello distillery and is the result of a blend of Agricole rum (pure juice) and Traditional rum (molasses). Aged in barrels until 2006, the rum was then placed in tuns until bottling in January 2008.
There are two versions of this Basseterre rum: an 11-year-old 1995 (showing 58.2%) and a 9-year-old 1997 (49.2%), both from the Carrère distillery (producer of Montebello rum) located in Petit -Bourg sur Basse-Terre in Guadeloupe.
We learn on the back label that these two cuvées were selected during the period that will later give birth to the Rhum Rhum project.
