Fine Old Jamaican Rum 1945 21YO (Justerini & Brooks)
Description
Distilled in 1945, this Jamaican rum was specially selected by Mr. Ralph Cobbold of Justerini & Brooks Ltd. at the request of John Ringling North (president and director of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus and occasional American performer). This custom bottling was specially selected by Sir Cobbold, who was none other than the then-director of Justerini & Brooks, a venerable house founded in 1749 and still in existence today (and the originator of the J&B Scotch Whisky blend).
Bottled by Messrs. Schmid & Gassler, in Genoa, in 1966. We are therefore looking at a 21-year-old Jamaican rum...
Note that there is at least one other bottling of this rum, this time for a certain Paul Getty (a multi-billionaire American industrialist who founded the Getty Oil Company in 1942 and the J. Paul Getty Trust, one of the world's largest cultural foundations, in 1953).
