Description

An old brand of Jamaican rum, this Black Joe rum was marketed in the 1970s, 1980s. It was imported to the Italian market by the Illva Saronno company. A company founded in 1922 and which mainly produced Amaretto, bitters and Sicilian wines ("Illva" is an acronym that means Industria Lombarda Liquori Vini e Affini).

This is a rum produced by the Rum Company Ltd, based in Kingston, which would later be bought by the Wray & Nephew group (in 1965).
