Description

In 2020, the Neisson distillery is celebrating its 88th anniversary and is releasing two VSOP rums for the occasion, including the one offered here for sale, exclusively sold at the distillery in Martinique.

The rum that composes it has spent almost 5 years in barrels, with aging on July 9, 2015 and bottling on April 16, 2020. The degree displayed on the label is a nod to the anniversary (44% = 88 US Proof).

Note that the second VSOP - released by LMDW (La Maison du Whiskey) - offers a 5 and a half year old rum. Distilled in 2014, it spent four months in new Profil 105 barrels and then spent almost two and a half years in ex-Bourbon barrels, before finally finishing its journey for 2 and a half years in ex-Cognac barrels. This was bottled at the same strength of 44% but in 900 copies.
