Caroni 18 years old 2000 Replica. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the mythical Caroni distillery, the Velier company has produced a blend of several 2000 vintages which have aged in Trinidad, in the tropics for 18 years. The label design is based on one made by the distillery during the 1940s.
Founded in 1918 in Trinidad and Tobago, Caroni is a state distillery which was running at full capacity until 1993 before closing definitively in 2002. Two years later, Luca Gargano discovered a dormant stock of a few thousand barrels, creating in no time an unprecedented craze.
Its bottlings are offered mostly cask strength and rums aged entirely in the tropics.
