Founded in 1918 in Trinidad and Tobago, Caroni is a state distillery that was operating at full capacity until 1993 before closing permanently in 2002. Two years later, Luca Gargano discovered a dormant stock of a few thousand casks, creating an unprecedented craze in no time.
His bottlings are mostly offered at cask strength and the rums are aged entirely in the tropics.
