Karukera 2004 Double Maturation
Description
Distilled in 2004 and bottled 8 years later in 2012, this Double Maturation rum from Karukera, as its name suggests, has undergone a two-stage aging process: in Bourbon barrels for 6 years and then 2 years in Cognac barrels. It was then bottled at natural strength and without cold filtration. In total, five barrels were bottled (the strengths displayed may vary depending on the selected barrel).
As with the 1999 & 2000 vintages released by Karukera (as well as the Christophe Colomb vintage), this 2004 is an agricultural rum purchased from a Martinique colleague. Karukera supervises all the stages of aging and maturing.
