Don Q Light bottled in the 1960s
Description
Here is a bottle of Don Q stamped "Light" marketed in the 1960s on the Italian market by Savas.
This is the ancestor of the Don Q Cristal (which is a discolored version of the Don Q Gold), even if the production processes of the time were undoubtedly very different from those of today...
The Don Q brand - named after the famous protagonist of Miguel de Cervantes, Don Quixote - was first introduced in 1934. Produced at the Serrallés distillery in Puerto Rico, it is the result of the assembly of light rums distilled in columns (in operation since 2007) and heavier rums produced from the original 1934 column (Vendome).
