Don Q Gold bottled in the 1980s
A Don Q rum, or rather a ron as it was still made in the 1980s, imported by the Italian Giovinetti based in Milan. This is a bottle of Don Q "Gold" rum, a blend of rums aged between 18 months and 5 years distilled in the original Vendome column.
The Don Q brand - named after the famous protagonist of Miguel de Cervantes, Don Quixote - was first introduced in 1934. Produced at the Serrallés distillery in Puerto Rico, it is the result of the assembly of light rums distilled in columns (in operation since 2007) and heavier rums produced from the original 1934 column (Vendome).
