Description
Throughout its history, the Bally distillery has experimented with different bottle shapes, sometimes intentionally, sometimes due to supply issues. This 1966 vintage is presented here in a striking 1-liter round bottle, released in the late 1970s and early 1980s. A true rarity!
From 1963 to 1974, we are in the middle of the Jean Bally period: In 1963, Jacques Bally died and it was one of his sons, Jean Bally, who took over the reins of the distillery. Having joined his father after the Second World War and leading a political career alongside his new rum business, he was unable to prevent the closure of the distillery in 1974 (production would go to Saint James). In the meantime, the 1966 and 1970 vintages would be released.
