Description
Nine Leaves is a traditional Japanese rum made from unrefined brown sugar, which comes to us from the late Nine Leaves distillery founded in 2013 by Yoshiharu Takeuchi in the city of Otsu, near Tokyo.
Inspired by the techniques of making single malts, Yoshiharu distilled his rums twice, using two different pot stills.
This bottle is the very first version of the "Encrypted" series, with which Yoshiharu Takeuchi once tried his hand at finishing. This first opus is a blend of 2-year-old rums aged in four different types of casks: bourbon, sherry/oloroso, brandy, and... a secret cask.
