Description

Christian Drouin's Pommeau de Normandie is a blend of Calvados and fresh apple juice in proportions of ¼ Calvados at 70% vol and 3/4 cider apple juice.

The appellation requires a minimum of 14 months of aging in oak barrels after mutage. Christian Drouin's Pommeau is made from partly older pommeau. This additional aging provides a better balance, with no apparent hint of alcohol.

It is in Normandy, and this for three generations, that the Drouin family has been passionate about the production of Calvados.

An adventure that began in 1960 with Christina Drouin père, assisted by the distiller Pierre Pivet. In 1969, it was Christian Drouin Fils' turn to join his father and give the family business an international dimension, quickly becoming passionate about the art of aging. He quickly gave new impetus to the entire profession and specialized in the development of the rarest and oldest calvados. In January 2004, the third generation joined the adventure in the person of Guillaume Drouin, then an agricultural engineer and oenologist. He devoted the first five years to developing exports before taking over production management, then the management of the company in 2013. Even today, father and son jointly produce the house's blends.
