Christian Drouin XO
Description
The XO from Christian Drouin has undergone a longer aging than the VSOP, completed by the use of old Cognac barrels. Dense and rich, it is marked by notes of baked apple and tatin, and develops the first aromas of a subtle rancio.
It is in Normandy, and this for three generations, that the Drouin family has been passionate about the development of Calvados.
An adventure that began in 1960 with Christina Drouin senior, assisted by the distiller Pierre Pivet. In 1969, it was the turn of Christian Drouin Fils to join forces with his father and give the family business an international dimension, quickly becoming passionate about the art of aging. He quickly gave new impetus to the entire profession and specialized in the development of the rarest and oldest calvados. In January 2004, the third generation joined the adventure in the person of Guillaume Drouin, then an agricultural engineer and oenologist. He devoted the first five years to developing exports before taking over production management, then the management of the company in 2013. Today, father and son still jointly produce the house's blends.
