Description
“Grand Rhum Doré” from 1943 produced, distilled and bottled at the Duquesne distillery in Sainte-Luce.
Marketed in the 1940/early 1950s, this rum aged for 3 years in oak barrels before being bottled.
It bears my mention "golden rum", undoubtedly fashionable at the time, since the term will much later be assimilated to rums aged in wood (amber rums) - whose passage in barrels does not exceed a few months.
