Myers's Rum Seagram Italia bottled in the 1980s
Description
Myers's rum bottled in the 1980s and imported by the Italian branch of Seagram.
Myers's is a 100% Jamaican rum brand whose recipe was created in 1879: a blend of nine rums, all distilled at the Clarendon distillery but using different methods (more or less long fermentations, distillations in continuous columns but also in stills Iron Pot Stills).
In 1954, the brand was sold to Seagram before becoming the property of Diageo in 2000 and then that of the company Sazerac since 2018. Also nicknamed Dark Rum, it bears witness to a time when the more colorful the rum was, the more it was appreciated. More recently used in the cocktail world, Myers's owes its color to the addition of molasses during aging.
