JM XO bottled in the 1970s (cuir)
Description
Very rare bottle of JM in its XO version with leather label, marketed in the 1970s. Historically, this is the very first leather label used by JM. A piece of history...
A bottling that we owe to René Crassous de Médeuil, director of the distillery from 1930 until 1976, who was the first to try aging rums for more than 10 years.
With 15 years of age on the clock, J.M vintages bearing leather labels have been produced every year since 1982, before which there were also "out of age" rums (pre 1982 and even pre 1974), the collar does not not mentioning a year yet. Collerette which also disappeared at the beginning of the 1990s (1994/1996) to make way for a second label under the main one. From then on, JM's "leather" bottlings will no longer be exclusively and systematically 15 years old.
