Description
Bas-Armagnac signed Castarède, distilled in 2004 and bottled after 20 years of aging in 2024.
While Castarède is readily recognized as the oldest Armagnac trading house (since 1832), we still too often forget that of producer, which it has nevertheless been practicing since 1980. It is even historically a distiller-trader. This family business thus maintains a unique know-how: both a guardian of time and a producer on its own account, its centuries-old cellars house vintages dating back to 1888...
The property now has sixteen hectares of vines, on which five grape varieties flourish: the emblematic Baco, invented by a Landes schoolteacher, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Plant de Graisse and the delicate Folle Blanche.
