Very old bottle of Laphroaig, 10 years old (75 proof), marketed in the 1960s. At the time, the distillation was carried out under the close supervision of Bessie Williamson.
Founded in 1815, the Laphroaig distillery (pronounced 'la-froyg') is located on the island of Islay on the west coast of Scotland. Its name comes from the Scottish Gaelic Lag a'mhor aig which means "the cave of the bay".
