Description
Attention unicorn: Macallan 1940 is a Single Highland Malt over 40 years old distilled in 1940 and bottled/marketed in 1981 for the Italian market via the Rinaldi company.
At the time of distillation, the Macallan distillery only had two stills, compared to twenty-one at the time of bottling forty-one years later...
Only five vintages were bottled in this series, since known as "The Macallan Handwritten Label": 1938, 1940, 1950, 1957 and a 1973, all bottled between 1980 and 1983.
The label is handwritten and the bottle is numbered.
