Pampero Selección 1938 is an aged rum from Venezuela and released in the early 2000s to celebrate 70 years of the Pampero company. It is a blend of young rums aged in ex-Bourbon barrels and older rums that have aged up to 8 years in ex-Sherry barrels.

The bottle here on sale is in the 75cl format.

Industrias Pampero was founded in 1938 by Alejandro Hernández and Luis Toro in the city of Caracas. Stronghold of the famous Pampero rum, very popular in Venezuela but also for export, later bought (in the 1990s) by the giant Diageo. The rum produced - the first to benefit from the "Añejo" indication by the Venezuelan government - is made up of a blend of light rum distilled on a continuous column, a semi-heavy rum produced by kettle batch and heavy rum distilled in pot stills.
