Rhum Caravelle is a registered trademark and bottled by the company S.A.E.L., based in Niort (France), in the 1980s.
At the time, the number of brands in metropolitan France was considerable and reached several hundred. The wine merchants added then automatically the rum to their catalog, enlarging the range of bottles available. We can imagine the Caravelle rum landing on the port of Nantes before returning.
