Labbé

Vieux Labbé is a rum produced and bottled in Port-Au-Prince in Haiti by the company Berling S.A. which today belongs to Herbert Barbancourt Lingé.

Originally, there was the Barbancourt family who discovered a vocation for distillation in 1862, until the two brothers Dupré and Labbé separated in 1906 and their destinies crossed. In the middle of the 20th century, Jeanne Barbancourt, the last to bear the original surname, married Rudolf Linge Berling, a German perfumer who worked in Grasse during the Second World War. Together, they launched the company Berling SA, which manufactures Rhum Vieux Labbé (a brand launched in 1999) and which is still managed today by their son Herbert.
