Worthy Park
Worthy Park Estate was founded in 1670 in the heart of Jamaica, sixty kilometers north of Kingston. Run by just three families in 340 years, Worthy Park is considered one of the oldest still-operating distilleries in the world.
It begins to produce rum from 1741, will know its peak a century later before temporarily closing in 1950 to put a brake on the production of Jamaican rum, then too important (much more important than that of sugar). Worthy Park will start distilling again in 2005, launching its own brands (Rum-Bar, Worthy Gold).
Like many neighboring distilleries, it produces rums with different aromatic profiles and still exports its rum wholesale throughout the world.
