Description
David Sandeman & Son was founded in Glasgow at the start of the 19th century. David was the brother of George G Sandeman who founded the famous Sandeman Port distribution company launched in 1790. He left the company after eight years to strike out on his own around 1805, before founding the Scottish Commercial Bank in 1810. When David died in 1835, his son continued to run the wine and liquor business, bottling many very old and sought after spirits (cognacs, whiskies, rums).This 1865 Jamaican rum is a perfect example.
